I've read quite a few of Tessa's books, they are always funny and cute, but this one stood out to me. I think it's because Julian isn't my typical book boyfriend type; he's very rigid, struggles with anxiety, and can sometimes come off very cold. Yet, the way he falls for Hallie ... swoon! Seeing his romantic side shine so bright, it gave me all the feels.

Hallie Welch fell hard for Julian Vos at fourteen, after they almost kissed in the dark vineyards of his family’s winery. Now the prodigal hottie has returned to Napa Valley, and when Hallie is hired to revamp the gardens on the Vos estate, she wonders if she'll finally get that smooch. ​The Story Of My Life, Lucy Score

Believe it or not, this was the first Lucy Score book I read, and I absolutely loved it. The fact it's about a romance author obviously helped, so did the hot man with a tool belt. It has everything you need from a small town romance, a good old fashioned fake dating trope, hilarious banter, and some very steamy spice.

I could not stop laughing the entire way through. This book had the best banter I’ve read in quite some time, and the proposal scene, my God, I think there were actual tears in my eyes from the laughing so hard.

He proposed . . . and I said yes. Normally a jovial occasion for a couple in love, but this proposal has a very different feel. Because the man that I'll be calling my husband blew into town with one thing on his mind . . . to make my life a living nightmare. So why did I say yes? Well, because we both need something from each other.

The whole Gold Valley series is cowboy romance at its best. This is book one and it’s Olivia (the good girl) and Luke’s (hunky cowboy) story. She needs to make her ex jealous and he needs to buy her dad’s land … I feel a deal coming on 🤔

Holding the Reins, Paisley Hope

From the moment CeCe dropped her vibrator in the street I was all in. I loved her, I loved Nash and all the protective/possessive vibes he was giving off. Again, I recommend the whole series, but start here. Brother’s best friend, cowboy, found family, he falls first — it’s got all the good tropes and vibes .

Nash Carter. Retired ice hockey player and part time cowboy. Also my brother’s best friend and therefore strictly off limits. Despite the fact he can’t stop staring at me like I’m his favourite snack. And I . . . like it?

​Seeing Red, Bailey Hannah
The accidental pregnancy trope isn’t always my favourite, but let me tell you — this book had me seriously reconsidering that. I fell hard for Chase, he was just utter perfection. Also, the spicy scenes are really spicing 🥵

Cassidy Bowman has strict rules to uphold her good-girl reputation: she doesn't date locals, and she definitely doesn't sleep with men she isn't dating. But after a run-in with her ex-boyfriend-she's ready to buck those rules. With a long-time crush on Cassidy, local cowboy Chase "Red" Thompson is more than willing to accept her offer of a one-night stand and her one condition: he must agree to never speak of it again.

Hockey Romance:

Stand and Defend, Sloane St. James
I thought I was going to dislike Camden when I started this book, so even I was surprised that this one turned out to be my favourite in the entire series. Jordana was clearly the key to making him the perfect book boyfriend. I love that he had to work for her attention, and that she kept him on his toes. Their chemistry also just so happens to be off the charts too!

When Jordana decides to leave her fiancé, he sends her running to the last person she expected: his best man. Camden Teller is a cocky, selfish, womanizing, daredevil—and her new favorite person. Who knew a bad boy would be such a good influence?

​Gloves Off, Stephanie Archer
Enemies to lovers is my favourite trope so I’m not surprised this was my favourite from the whole series. The hilarious banter and scorching chemistry between these two was absolute perfection.

The only way to get my inheritance? Marry Alexei Volkov—the grumpiest enforcer in the NHL, a brutally handsome jerk, and the last man I’d ever fall for.

​Hat Trick, Chelsea Curto
Oh Riley, he was just so freaking cute, it was impossible not to route for him and Lexi. I also do enjoy a strong FMC and Lexi definitely didn’t disappoint.

It was supposed to be one night, but when just once turns into something much deeper than a romp in the bedroom, they have a decision to make.

Mafia Romance:

Carnal Urges, J. T. Geissinger
I don’t actually read a lot of mafia romance books, but because I love this author and liked the blurb — I checked it out. I’m so glad I did. The dialogue/banter between Sloane and Declan is crazy good, hilarious and full of sooooo much sexual tension. If you’re a fan of strong, smart and funny FMCs it really is worth the read.

The devil has blue eyes, an Irish accent, and a hatred for me that runs deep. When the devil meets his match but she’s his sworn enemy, that’s when the real war begins.
